Spray-Painted Doors
Spray application gives kitchen cabinet doors a smooth, even finish that is very difficult to achieve with a brush or roller. The finish quality is close to factory-applied finishes when preparation is done correctly.
We remove cabinet doors before spraying and work on them flat in a controlled environment. This produces a finish without drips, runs, or brush marks. Doors are reinstated after the finish has cured to the correct hardness.
Cabinet carcasses are masked and painted in place with a brush and roller. This is the safest way to work in an occupied kitchen without contaminating food surfaces or appliances.
Solid Wood vs MDF Cabinets
Solid wood and MDF cabinet doors need different preparation systems before any topcoat goes on. Solid wood requires a solvent-based primer to seal the grain and prevent tannin bleed-through on lighter colours. MDF requires a specialist primer that seals the porous surface and provides a stable base.
